District 29 would like to honor the memory of Tamara Smiley Hamilton. Tamara Hamilton passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 29, 2020. Tamara was awarded the designation of Accredited Speaker by Toastmasters International. She was Accredited Speaker #79 and the first Black woman in the world to obtain this distinction. Tamara was a contributing member of Toastmaster Districts 36, 27 and 29.
Tamara was an eloquent keynote speaker who communicated with passion, power, and purpose. Her electric enthusiasm sparked excitement and positively impacted morale. Her story of hope and resilience touched the hearts of many. Tamara greatly impacted the Toastmaster world and all who knew her. Tamara Smiley Hamilton will be missed.
