Help Wanted

Wanted: Your Talent

Do you have an interest in documenting events through photography, assisting in making events run smoothly, or parliamentary procedure?  If so, the role of Photographer, Logistics Manager, or Parliamentarian might just be for you!  Please read the general descriptions below and contact District Director, Paula Green at [email protected] for more detailed information and further discussion. Photographer: The Photographer attends major in-person district events to help document and celebrate our members achievements. Logistics Manager: The Logistics Manager organizes the meeting space, ensuring the atmosphere is conducive to successful events, such as business meetings, speech contests, and training. The Logistics Manager sets up necessary equipment, assists District leaders with meeting arrangements, distributes program materials, keeps track of District property, and addresses disruptions during events. Parliamentarian: The Parliamentarian assists the District Director with planning and conducting District meetings. Responsibilities of the parliamentarian include interpreting Toastmasters bylaws and policies, reviewing District operating procedures as requested by the District Director, and ensuring all meetings follow proper protocol. The Parliamentarian is an invaluable resource for the District Director, offering help, guidance, and support during meetings and answering any questions the District Director has related to rules and procedures. Members who assume this role must have a thorough understanding of Robert’s Rules of Order Newly Revised.

Lead the Future

The new 2024-2025 Toastmasters program year provides us all with the opportunity to start fresh.  Take the time now to reflect on your journey over the past year and think about the possibilities going forward.  Did your club reach their collective goals?  How did your own communication objectives progress?  Have you added leadership to your list of things to explore?  What does the path ahead look like?  This year’s theme for District 29 is “Lead the Future”.  While the future can be filled with uncertainties, it also brings a sense of excitement and anticipation for what lies ahead.  When we leverage the skills learned in Toastmasters, we move from being a passive observer to an active participant, fully engaged in shaping our ends.  And as we embark on a journey of self-discovery, we impact the lives of those around us, too.  How will you take charge of your destiny and lead the future?  Paula, Sukumar, and Kim District 29 Trio
