Toastmasters 2021 Convention – An Online Experience!

Last year marked an exciting time in Toastmasters convention history—the first-ever online convention was born. You can even say it was one of the silver linings for our organization in a most unprecedented year. At a time when fellowship was most needed, the 2020 Virtual Convention brought together more than 59,000 registrants from 203 countries. Astonishingly, nearly 90% of last year’s online convention-goers were first-time attendees, extending the Toastmasters welcome mat to more people than we thought possible at a single event. To say that we were “on to something good” would be an understatement.

I am happy to announce the recent Board of Directors’ decision to conduct an online convention August 23-28, 2021; as a result, the previously announced in-person convention in Nashville, Tennessee, U.S. will not be taking place.

One of my goals as your International President during these times is to keep us all safe—while still being engaged in what we love most as Toastmasters. I am confident we can expand on the attendance, education, and excitement of last year’s convention and make this one even more spectacular. I invite you to spread the word and help me turn it into one of the best Toastmasters experiences of all time!

Stay well—and stay tuned for more convention details.
Sincerely,Richard Signature

  1. This is great to hear. Much was learned in 2020 to include how to leverage technology to allow more people to be involved. They say that we must be movers and shakers BUT I think movers and thinkers is more appropriate. Keep up the GREAT work!!!!!!

  2. This is great that during times of challenge that people can be more than movers and shakers as they are movers and thinkers. Way to go in making it accessible for many more to enjoy the benefits of Toastmasters events.
