2020 – 2021 District 29 Contest update
Each year thousands of Toastmasters compete in Speech contests. Competition begins with club contests and winners continue competing through the area, division, and district levels. The International competition has two additional levels — semifinal and the World Championship of Public Speaking®.
The District 29 Speech Contest schedule has been determined
Fall Contests will include Humorous Speech Contest and Table Topic Contest
Spring Contests will include International Speech Contest and Evaluations Contest
August – Club Contests
September – Area Contests
October – Division Contests
February – Club Contests
March – Area Contests
April – Division Contests

District 29 Finals will be held during the Annual Conference in May 2021
Speech contest details:
- Evaluation Contest: Contestants observe a five- to seven-minute test speech and then present a two- to three-minute evaluation of the test speech
- Humorous Speech Contest: A five- to seven-minute speech which must be thematic in nature (opening, body, and close), not a monologue nor series of one-liners
- International Speech Contest: A five- to seven-minute speech on any subject
- Table Topic Contest: An impromptu speech of one-to-two minutes. Contestants are assigned the same topic, told to them when they are introduced by the contest chair
