Welcome to the 2019-2020 Toastmasters program year! Our theme this year is “Find Your Path.” Beyond the obvious reference to getting started in Pathways, this is a reminder to look at your larger Toastmasters journey and life, focusing on your hopes for your personal and professional future. We believe that Toastmasters can be the vehicle that transports you along that path and we are committed to helping every member achieve their Toastmasters goals. To do this, we, like many top-performing teams and organizations—are going to focus on living our values—integrity, respect, service and excellence–and mastering the fundamentals, beginning with a commitment to live the Toastmasters Promise. We’re asking you join us in that commitment for yourself and for your clubs. We’re moving out with the new education program—Pathways—to be sure, but we are also re-committing to doing those things that have always made clubs and members successful—holding productive meetings, presenting prepared speeches, providing effective evaluations, taking on leadership positions, having fun and focusing on the success of each and every individual member. Find your path and we’ll be there to help and support you as you travel it.
Dana Richard, DTM – District Director, 2019-2020
As we begin our new Toastmasters year, we welcome you to go back to first principles. Remember why you joined Toastmasters in the first place? Have you accomplished all that you came to Toastmasters for? If yes, congratulations! What’s next for you this Toastmasters year? Are you going to attain the coveted Distinguished Toastmaster’s designation either via the traditional program or the Pathways program? Are you going to go for a Triple Crown award which is awarded to Toastmasters who accomplish three or more Education Awards during the period beginning July 1, 2019 and ending June 30, 2020?
Are you planning to serve as a Club leader? If so, are you planning on attending the Toastmasters Leadership Institutes (TLIs) that are being offered several times this TLI season between June and August 2019? If so, have you registered for one or more of the TLIs? Click Toastmasters Leadership Institute Registration to register for the event.
Together, as a District 29 Toastmasters family we can accomplish great things! I am excited to start this new year! Hope you are too!! I hope you can Find Your Path and set forth on it!
Narayanan Doraswamy, DTM – Program Quality Director, 2019-2020
We build new clubs and support all clubs in achieving excellence. For a District Mission, it is short and to the point, but it is also a huge challenge and goal. We met our goal for Distinguished Clubs for 2018- 2019. We want to continue that legacy as we move forward.
Have you thought about District Leadership? Are you ready to move forward? If so, how can we help you achieve your goals? Paying attention to the needs of our members is one of our goals for the 2019 – 2020 year.
As you ”Find Your Path” this coming year, we are here to help and support our members, clubs, areas, divisions, and District 29 to be the best we can be. I’m looking forward to the coming year and to hearing from each and every member of our District.
An important responsibility and an exciting leadership opportunity is mine for the coming year and I want to help the district continue to flourish by building new clubs, helping to sustain our existing clubs and growing our membership. Let me know if you would like to help.
Have a great year as you move forward on your path!
Bettie St.Clair, DTM – Club Growth Director, 2019-2020
